Medical Marijuana – Cannabis as a Medicine
When most people think of the healing powers of medical marijuana, they most likely think of the main psychoactive compound THC. However, THC is just one of many cannabinoids found in marijuana. Once ingested, cannabinoid chemicals enter the body, and specific cannabinoid receptors receive the compound which sends a neuro-signal to the brain. In fact, the human body has an entire system called the endocannabinoid system to handle the neurological signals being passed to the brain.
